Microsoft launches Decision-1, a small model built for routing and classification
Microsoft released Microsoft-Decision-1, a model that scores options for decisions such as routing, classification and verification rather than writing text. It is available in Microsoft Foundry and on OpenRouter.

Microsoft introduced Microsoft-Decision-1 on October 9, describing it as a model for fast decision-scoring aimed at routing, classification, prioritization, verification and workflow control in applications and agents.
The company says the model is available in Microsoft Foundry and through OpenRouter, and claims it leads on latency and quality for structured decision tasks compared with both large language models and other decision models.
Microsoft says it will keep updating the model to improve quality, confidence and cost.
