Musk says Grok Bot will route tasks to the best model, including Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5

Elon Musk said SpaceX's Grok Bot agent will use whichever back-end model is most likely to give the best outcome for a task, naming Claude Opus 5.5, Midjourney and Suno.

Elon Musk posted that SpaceX's Grok Bot agent will use "the best back end model for any given task, including Claude Opus 5.5, MidJourney, Suno and other leading APIs," The New Stack reported on October 10. "Whatever is most likely to give you the best outcome," he wrote.

The New Stack described Grok Bot as a joint product of SpaceXAI and Cursor, which SpaceX agreed in June to buy in a deal that closed in August. The post did not say how Grok Bot decides which model handles a request.

The New Stack's Matt Burns tied the move to a wider trend of companies routing work by task to control cost, drawing on interviews with 22 company leaders at Insight Partners' ScaleUp:AI conference. Insight Partners owns The New Stack, which the article discloses.
